Calash Bonnet in Brown Silk
Calashes grew in popularity (and in size) in the last quarter of the 18th century. Based on an extant example at the LA County Museum of Art, this roughly 12" high calash is sized for a teen girl or the smaller hairstyles of the late 1760s and early 1770s. Entirely handsewn with caned channels and a brown silk taffeta ribbon, this delicate calash will protect your hairstyle from wind and rain. 18" around the neck (adjustable); 12" high, 9.5" deep partially extended, 26" from edge to edge across the top.
